According to a report from MovieWeb, Rihanna recently stated that she wouldn’t mind starring as Poison Ivy if the Batman universe ever brought the character to life again. The star inadvertently sparked rumors this past week when she posted a picture of her leather boots on the ‘Gram along with a caption in reference to Batman.
Rihanna appearing as Poison Ivy sparked so much controversy that even reporters from Entertainment Weekly asked the singer about them. Unfortunately, Rihanna won’t be starring as Poison Ivy anytime soon, however, she is definitely open to the possibility.
This past year, BossLogic, an artist famous for constructing entertainers as different characters, drew up a picture of the singer dressed as Poison Ivy, and fans were thrilled. Such casting isn’t entirely far-fetched either, as Rihanna has begun acting in recent years.
Rihanna has gotten small roles in movies like Guava Island, Annie, Home, Ocean’s 8, and Battleship. Moreover, she appeared in Bates Motel as Marion Crane, which was originally portrayed by Janet Leigh in Psycho from Alfred Hitchcock.

Rumors of Rihanna’s casting in The Batman comes on the heels of other reports regarding the production of the film. Reportedly, The Batman has run into issues behind the scenes, including many creative differences among crew members.
Currently, Matt Reeves will direct and write on the project, however, the only star confirmed for the movie thus far is Robert Pattinson, the Twilight star, as Bruce Wayne. Thus far, it isn’t entirely clear who the villain will be in the new Batman movie, however, what we do know is that the Dark Knight will be investigating murders in his native city, Gotham.
Rumor has it that Pierce Brosnan, who is perhaps most famous for starring as James Bond in the 1990s and early 2000s, will star as Alfred Pennyworth, previously portrayed by Anthony Hopkins. Regardless of casting news and rumors, The Batman is scheduled for release on the 25th of June in 2021 claims Entertainment Tonight.
