Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe cover Esquire UK for November 2019 as the two prepare for the premiere of The Lighthouse in movie theaters across the U.S. The Robert Eggers movie that had no script has won four film festivals including Cannes and both Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson have already been submitted for Oscar nominations — Robert Pattinson for best actor and Willem Dafoe for best supporting actor.

If Robert Pattinson is nominated, this would be his first. Willem Dafoe is a four-time Oscar-nominee and many feel it is time that both men win an Oscar.

The Lighthouse premieres in U.S. theaters on October 18, 2019.

The trailer for The Lighthouse has gone viral, much to the surprise of those who associate Robert Pattinson with Harry Potter and the Twilight saga. Though Willem Dafoe has proved his acting capabilities, Robert Pattinson was in danger of being typecast as a teeny-bopper adored young actor.

Now, 33-years-old Robert Pattinson has proved he is much more than the glittering, vampire Edward Cullen.

Pattinson continued to take on more challenging roles proving his depth and commitment to each character he portrayed along the way. Some who are amazed by Pattinson’s performance in The Lighthouse are now concerned that his upcoming role as The Batman will somehow tarnish his future as a serious actor.

For Pattinson’s fans; however, there is nothing that can deter them from esteeming Pattinson as a serious actor. Many are in agreement that it is time the industry stop diminishing his talents and just accept him and his talents for what they are.

After all, Ben Affleck played Batman and is a two-time Oscar winner.
