According to a report from Us Weekly, Jersey Shore stars Mike Sorrentino and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro are still quite close to one another. In a report from the publication, it was stated that Mr. Ortiz-Magro looked to Sorrentino for advice when getting clean.

Ronnie said Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was “actually there” for him during the entire process of getting clean from his substance abuse issues. Over the last year, the star began, “he would always hit me up,” the 33-years-old remarked.

Whenever Ronnie felt as if things wouldn’t get better, the reality star claimed he’d call Mike and the latter would ensure that everything would be alright. Ortiz-Magro claims the day he went to rehab, he actually gave Sorrentino a call. Ronnie said Mike was very proud of him.

Mike told Ronnie the importance of getting clean, and how one has to come to that conclusion on their own, and not due to pressure from others. If a person wants to get sober, they can do it, but not if they truly don’t want to.

Sorrentino also had his own struggles over the years, including prescription medication addiction and he even had to go to rehab more than once. This was in the years succeeding his time on the MTV breakout hit, Jersey Shore, which brought him and the rest of the cast to national fame.

Currently, Mike is in prison serving an eight-month sentence as a result of evading taxes. Mike talks to other stars from the show like Vinny Guadagnino, Nicole Polizzi, Jenni Farley, as well as DJ Pauly D. Ortiz-Magro said he speaks with Mike every day through email.

It appears as though each star from Jersey Shore has battled some kind of issue as of late, including, perhaps most recently, JWoww, who has been fighting publicly with her estranged husband, Roger Mathews. The pair have been duking it out over social media.

Putting all of that aside, it looks like Ronnie and others are doing their best to make Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino seem like a good person for the sake of, possibly, getting parole. However, that’s merely speculation and hasn’t been confirmed.
