Ronnie Ortiz-Magro defended his romance with Jen Harley just hours before his domestic violence and kidnapping arrest.

The Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star is once again embroiled in a bitter fight with his baby mama. Their turbulent romance has caused a slew of problems for Ortiz-Magro since the day they got together.

Despite all the ups and downs in their relationship, Ortiz-Magro insists the couple has nothing but love for each other. At the launch party for his line of CBD products in Los Angeles, the reality TV star spoke warmly about Harley and their romance.

“Me and Jen have a strong love for each other. What the show portrays and what we really have for each other are two completely different things. They ask why do we stay with each other? And it’s because we know what we have is real. And at the end of the day, people don’t see what we have, they see what MTV wants you guys to see,” the 33-year-old shared with E! News.

Ortiz-Magro went on to explain people must remember it is a show. The network and producers are looking for ratings. They will choose to air what they want, and for him, it is a job.

“But at the end of the day, you’ve got to realize it’s a show, its television, it’s for ratings, and it’s a job. I do it because I do love entertaining people, and I love the fact that people love the show, but I do it for other people. I do it to make television, and that’s what we all do. And we know what we’re doing at the end of the day, and we’re still being real, and it’s not produced. But we know at this point what to do and what people like,” he said.

Hours after his candid chat with E! News,Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was arrested for domestic violence. Later the Los Angeles Police Department added the charge of kidnapping.

TMZ is reporting the reality TV star locked himself and his young daughter inside the house when cops arrived. He allegedly refused to come out, and the police had to break down the door.

There is no question Ortiz-Magro and baby mama Jen Harley have a troubled relationship. The reality TV star claims the love is real, but their volatile history might say otherwise.
