Rosanna Arquette used social media on Wednesday to talk about her white privilege and shame. Her words are causing a severe amount of backlash for the actress. She has come under fire from online critics so much that the FBI reportedly told her to lock her social media accounts.
The drama began with one Tweets from the Desperately Seeking Susan star.
“I’m sorry I was born white and privileged. It disgusts me. And I feel so much shame. I’m sorry I was born white and privileged. It disgusts me. And I feel so much shame,” Tweeted the 59-year-old actress.

The message did not go over well with her followers. Her comments section quickly became flooded with remarks bashing Arquette.
“OMG Get our of here with that! My mother is white and never had any privilege! She busted her butt while raising 5 kids! Still to this day everything she has works hard for, not given a dam handout! Girl bye! Officially pissed off both races in me, Black and White,” replied Jynaia Williams
“What a patronizing, self-important person. Supposedly carrying so much shame & guilt that no one should think of her as an overall well-off person. Well, give it all to charity if you’re so guilt-ridden?” wrote Mats Vinnaren
Arquette revealed to The Wrap on Thursday that the responses to her initial Tweet have become so alarming, the FBI got involved. She was advised by the authorities to lock all of her social media accounts amid the backlash from her white privilege words.

“There are toxic and very vicious people on social media. Threatening and cruel. I said yesterday the I am ashamed of the color of my skin. I am privileged just because I’m white. I feel shame. Because of all the violence that is happening in America and other racist countries Yes, I’m locked to protect myself I was told by FBI to lock it up,” she shared with the website regarding why all of her social media accounts are suddenly private.
