Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may want their son Archie Harrison to have a private childhood, but that could prove to be quite the challenge. When it comes down to it, the royal family is too well-known, and there is just too much global interest for Harry and Meghan to keep everything about their son a secret, says royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams.
Harry and Meghan have already faced media scrutiny for keeping Archie’s birth and christening private, and if they continue to try to hide every aspect of their son’s life it will continue to be a “problem.”

Fitzwilliams says that every member of the British royal family – especially a senior member – must expect a high level of interest from people around the world because they are the most high-profile royal family on the planet. He says the interest in Harry, Meghan, and baby Archie is “nothing short of phenomenal, and always will be.”
The royal expert suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex come up with some arrangement with the press, just like Prince William and Kate Middleton have for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
“This is the problem regarding Archie, so to speak, as a ‘private citizen’, obviously, he must be given the chance, as William and Harry had, and those were in the days of the paparazzi – as George, Charlotte, and Louis, the same sort of arrangements, that for some access, and we had wonderful photos at the polo, for example, you get privacy. That is absolutely essential,” explained Fitzwilliams.
Harry and Meghan did not allow cameras at Archie’s christening, and they chose not to announce his godparents, which is unprecedented for a child who is seventh in line to the throne.

Buckingham Palace did release a statement about the event, saying that the christening of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor would be a small private ceremony at the private chapel at Windsor Castle, and Harry and Meghan would share photos taken by photographer Chris Allerton.
Fitzwilliams hopes that when Archie gets older fans will see him travel abroad and the palace will hopefully reveal his patronages so they get the chance to see him work in the charitable field like his parents.
