According to a report from Page Six, Russell Simmons has been kicked out of a yoga studio following the #MeToo accusations that took Russell by storm. For the last year and a half, Russell has managed to avoid the spotlight almost entirely, including several trips to Bali.
Thus far, Russell has been accused of rape and sexual misconduct by 12 different women, and while he’s slowly appearing more and more in the public’s eye, the Manhattan yoga studio claims they want nothing to do with him.
This past Thursday, the Modo Yoga NYC studio sent an email to the music mogul and asked him to stay away from their studio in the West Village. During his stay in Manhattan in the last few weeks, Russell went to classes at Modo, however, it appears as though they don’t want him there.
From Bali, Simmons said to reporters from The Post that he was invited to go to the studio by its managers, however, his presence had “triggered some members.” The owners of the establishment claimed that they don’t pass judgment on any of their members, however, when some people complain about someone’s behavior outside the studio, they have to handle it.

Simmons said to reporters from The Post that he was “deeply disappointed and hurt by” the accusations. Moreover, the music mogul claimed it isn’t a good step forward in terms of justice and how to go about handling accusations.
As it was previously reported, Russell was caught hanging out at the Capri Hotel in Southampton, partying at the home of Lyor Cohen, and also hanging out at the Up and Down nightclub. He was also spotted having dinner at Blue Fin in Times Square.
While the accusations against Russell were quite controversial, the music mogul claims New Yorkers have received him well. Kevin Liles, for instance, the ex-Def Jam president, stated Simmons had come to his office and gave a speech, and the attendants gave him a “standing ovation.”
Currently, Russell is fighting against a lawsuit from one woman who accused him of raping her back in 1988. Ironically, Russell is currently in the middle of building an “international school of yogic science.”
