Russian Instagram Influencer Ekaterina Karaglanova Found Dead At Age 24

Russian Instagram influencer Ekaterina Karaglanova was found dead last Friday at the age of 24.

Variety is reporting the brunette beauty was discovered dead and stuffed inside a suitcase. Along with having almost one million Instagram followers, Karaglanova was also a recent medical school graduate. She was on her way to becoming a dermatologist at the time of her tragic death.

The 24-year-old was discovered inside her Moscow apartment by her parents. After not hearing from their daughter for days and realizing she had not been in contact with her boyfriend either, Karaglanova’s parents sought out her landlord. Once they were granted access to her place, they sadly discovered her body stuffed in a suitcase.

Moscow police have confirmed there was no foul play, signs of forced entry or even signs of a struggle. There was not a weapon at the crime scene either.

CNN has reported the authorities have not yet released a motive in the case, but one theory was a jealous ex-boyfriend. There is allegedly footage of one of Karaglanova’s former flames entering her apartment building with a suitcase days before she was found dead.

On Wednesday, the police revealed they had a male suspect that was being brought in for questioning. However, the police are not releasing particulars to the suspect.

“As a result of operational search activities, the police officers at the Moscow Directorate of the MVD of Russia in Moscow established the location and arrested the suspect in the murder of a female social media personality in the apartment of a residential building on Pyryeva Street. He has now been brought in for questioning,” Irina Volk, the official spokesperson for the MVD, said in a statement to CNN.

Although she was known to the social media world as Ekaterina Karaglanova, her real name was Yekaterina Semochkina. She was an avid traveler, who loved to blog about her adventures. A good portion of her social media posts are of her visiting exotic locals and posh resorts.

The influencer was in the process of planning a trip to the Netherlands, with her boyfriend and parents for her 25th birthday on July 30th. Instead of being on a fabulous vacation to celebrate the Russian beauty, her family and friends had her funeral.
