Scarlett Johansson Dishes Marriage To Ryan Reynolds

Scarlett Johansson is dishing about marriage and divorce, including her high-profile union to actor Ryan Reynolds.

The blonde beauty learned a lot from her first marriage, and she shared the lessons during a candid interview with Vanity Fair.

“The first time I got married I was 23 years old. I didn’t really have an understanding of marriage. Maybe I kind of romanticized it, I think, in a way. It’s a different part of my life now. I feel like I’m in a place in my life, I feel I’m able to make more active choices. I’m more present, I think than I’ve been before,” the 35-year old expressed to the magazine.

Reynolds and Johansson got married in 2008 and shocked fans went they divorced three years later in 2011. She wasn’t single very long though.

The actress began dating French journalist Romain Dauriac, not long after her split from the Deadpool star. They wed in 2014, the same year the couple welcomed their only child, Rose Dorothy Dauriac. However, Johansson and Dauriac called it quits in 2017.

“It’s hard to raise a child with someone you’re no longer with. It’s hard. It’s not probably how it’s ‘supposed to be’ — in quotes — or whatever…. But, you know, I think my ex and I do it as well as we can. You have to prioritize your child and not put yourself in the middle. It has its challenges,” she told the magazine of going through a divorce and still having to co-parent with a person.

Despite having two failed marriages and enduring two divorcees, the actress is not shying away from walking down the aisle again. Johansson is engaged to Saturday Night Live star, Colin Jost, whom she has been dating for two years.

“The idea of building a family, making a family, and having that work, I like that idea. I think that would be wonderful. I’ve always wanted that. I wanted that also in my marriage to my daughter’s father as well. It just wasn’t the right person,” Johansson expressed.

Scarlett Johansson admitted she had a romantic notion about marriage when she wed Ryan Reynolds. The past relationship helped her take on the role of Nicole, in her latest flick Marriage Story. She and costar Adam Driver play a married couple going through a divorce while living across the country from each other.
