Selma Blair is once again getting candid about her battle with multiple sclerosis. She is praising her two friends, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jaime King for their unwavering support during her time of need.
The actress revealed so many of her family and friends have been by her side. However, Blair is giving Gellar and King an extra shout out in an exclusive interview with People magazine.
The Hart of Dixie alum sends her friend flowers every week. King has also been there with Blair as she endured several treatments for MS.
“I’m always happy to see that face,” Blair said of King.
Gellar started a food train immediately following her Cruel Intentions costar’s diagnosis. The actress wanted to make sure Blair did not have the added stress of having to cook for her and her 8-year-old son, Arthur.
“Sarah started the meal train, which is good because my kid likes to eat dinner, and that wouldn’t happen without it. I get weekend meal packs like I’ve never feasted on before from Reese Witherspoon, from Constance Zimmer and so many people I don’t even know through Sarah,” the 47-year-old expressed.
Blair revealed because of the acts of kindness she had been shown during her MS battle, it has prompted her to pay it forward. The actress met a woman on social media who is battling cancer. She decided to help provide a meal train for the woman and her family.
“She and her husband are working so hard while she deals with the aftermath of breast cancer and more chemotherapy, and they have a child. I thought, ‘She could probably use a meal train.’ I was getting all these meals, why not also pay it forward and start one for her,” Blair shared.
Life has drastically changed since Selma Blair was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The self-described loaner has learned how much better life is when you let people in. She is eternally grateful for good friends like Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jaime King.
“My friends have stood up in ways I never would have been comfortable with before. It’s been everything to me,” she stated.
Thanks to the support of her friends Blair has learned the importance of letting people share her life. She also admitted it has been good for her son to see her interact with her friends. It gives him a sense of normalcy to life, as well as teaches him a valuable lesson about trusting the right people.
