Serena Williams Gushes Over BFF Meghan Markle - She 'Couldn't Be A Better Friend'

Meghan Markle made headlines over her Wimbledon appearance and the response was not the most positive. However, her close friend, Serena Williams defended the Duchess, having nothing but good things to say about her.

As fans know, Meghan was in attendance at The Championships last Thursday in order to cheer on her BFF while she faced Kaja Juvan on the tennis court.

But while that was great friend behavior, the reason why she got hate was that rumors spread about the royal asking her protection officers to tell the other spectators not to take pics of her since she was there ‘in a private capacity.’

Some people also pointed out that she was sitting beside a group of people who had a couple of empty rows behind them.

Serena admitted that she did not know there was a negative response to Meghan being there.

‘Any time I see her name attached to anything, I do not read it. She could not be a better friend to me. Low moments, high moments—she is always there. That is all I want to be to her,’ the tennis champion went on to say.

The BFFs have known one another since 2014 and they are so close that Serena and her husband Alexis Ohanian were on the guest list for the Royal wedding in May of last year.

Not only that but Serena was the one to also host Meghan’s baby shower when she was still expecting her and Prince Harry’s first child, son, Archie Harrison.

So, obviously, Serena would be happy if Meghan continued to ignore the hate on social media and attended her matches.
