Serius Jones Pleads Guilty To A Group Of Charges To Avoid Federal Human Trafficking Charges

Serius Jones has managed to avoid very serious human trafficking charges by pleading guilty to other crimes, a report from The Mercury News revealed today. The outlet says Jones pled guilty to assault, dissuading a witness, and pimping.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, Contra Costa County, California, prosecutors dropped human trafficking charges in exchange for a guilty plea on the aforementioned crimes. As a result, Mr. Jones will serve 3 years behind bars.

As it was previously reported, Jones was charged in January of this year not long before he was apprehended by the Walnut Creek police on the 6th of February. Described as Jane Doe, the woman accused Jones of depriving her of her “personal liberty” and her “will” by forcing her “into prostitution” from the 31st of July until the 15th of October, 2019.

Moreover, Jones was accused of assaulting Jane Doe “by means likely to produce great bodily injury.” Initially, Jones pled not guilty in the criminal trial and also released an Instagram post in which he apologized to some of his fans on social media.

Serius wrote on his account at the time that he would never “force a woman” to do something without consent. The performing artist claimed it wasn’t the way he was raised as a person, and he went on to apologize to everyone who he had disappointed.

Jones also said there wasn’t a person on earth who was more disappointed than himself. This wouldn’t be the first time a music industry figure was involved in human trafficking and sexual abuse crimes. R. Kelly is currently sitting behind bars on charges that he used his power and influence in the music industry to force women into sexual relationships against their will.

Kelly’s fall-out began for the second time when Lifetime aired their docu-series, Surviving R. Kelly, which led to a massive wave of performers in the music business to distance themselves from the R&B crooner.

For instance, Lady Gaga was one of the first performing artists to come out and apologize for ever having worked with Mr. Kelly.
