The rapper may be showing off that both he and his wife, Kim Kardashian are billionaires but he apparently still took between $2 million and $5 million in federal Paycheck Protection Program stimulus funds in order to pay his Yeezy employees and Sharon Osbourne did not hesitate to call him out for it! Here’s what she had to say!
Kanye West has been the talk of the internet lately, making a lot of people mad because of his presidential bid tweet, anti-vaccines and pro-life beliefs and even getting national funds for his fashion brand amid the COVID-19 pandemic despite being a billionaire that definitely did not need the stimulus funds.
The news that he is officially a billionaire came back at the end of April when Forbes magazine declared that Yeezy is worth an estimated $1.3 billion and that Ye owns a hundred percent of the company’s shares.
But now, during the latest The Talk episode, Sharon slammed him for not using his own money to pay his employees and instead, turned to the struggling taxpayers of the country for help.
‘Well he should’ve used the 1.3 [billion] and just put it back in his company. I know obviously, the airlines had to be bailed out. But for me, it is kind of like small companies…I thought that it was for like mama and papa-type companies that do not have that much profit in the bank. So they need help to keep people’s jobs and everyone going. And I think that when you have that sort of cash, it is embarrassing to ask when you have it yourself,’ Shanon argued.
According to a U.S. Treasury’s Small Business Administration report, the money the presidential candidate received saved no less than 106 jobs at his fashion company but, of course, he could have kept paying them from his own wealth with no problem!
Sharon and many others were obviously shocked to hear that someone with so much money would get governmental aid just to keep their employees on the paycheck.
‘You have it, you have more than enough to keep a hundred people going, so why take from the government? I just do not get that. When you’re so wealthy — your family, everyone in your family is so wealthy, why are you doing this? I think that he should give the money back,’ she added.
