Sia Reveals She Adopted Two Teenage Boys Into Her Family Because They Were Aging Out Of Foster Care

Sia just released her new single Together from her upcoming album and film – which are both titled Music – and before her new music dropped she opened up about how she’s handling life during the COVID-19 pandemic. The 44-year-old singer visited SiriusSM’s The Morning Mash Up earlier this week, and she confirmed that she adopted two teenage boys into her family last year.

“I actually adopted two sons last year. They were both 18 — they’re both 19 years old now,” revealed the pop star. “They were aging out of the foster care system. Yeah, and I love them.”

Sia said that one of her sons has had a more difficult time adjusting to life at home during the pandemic, but it hasn’t been easy for anyone.

“They are both finding it pretty difficult, one more so than the other. But they’re both doing things that are really good for them right now, that are really helpful. They’re really doing a lot of educational stuff that’s good for them,” Sia said.

Earlier this year, Sia revealed in an interview that she wasn’t looking for a serious relationship with anyone. But, she did admit that she once asked Diplo via text if he would be interested in a casual “no strings” hook up.

She explained that she told Diplo that he was one of the five people she is sexually attracted to, and now that she’s decided to be single for the rest of her life and just adopted two sons, she doesn’t have time for a relationship.

The Chandelier singer married filmmaker Erik Anders Lang in 2014, but they separated just two years later. At the time, they told People magazine in a statement that they were dedicated to remaining friends, but they made the decision to split as a couple.

As for Sia’s new music, Together dropped on May 20 with a video that once again featured Maddie Ziegler. It will be part of her Music album and film which are both scheduled to be released in September.

Sia directed the Music movie, which stars Ziegler, Kate Hudson and Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. She also co-wrote and co-produced the movie and wrote all ten songs that are featured in the film.
