Duffy is calling for Netflix to remove one of its most popular movies called 365 Days. The film has lingered in the top ten for quite some time now.

365 Days follows a woman who is kidnapped by a man who has fallen in love with her. He then gives her 365 days to fall back in love or else he will set her free.

It’s been said to have given fans everything they expected and more from 50 Shades of Grey but can definitely be seen as problematic.

Duffy recently revealed that she was off the radar for so long because she had been kidnapped and raped. She is demanding the streaming service take down the movie because of the dangerous narrative it follows.

‘Recently I wrote publicly about an ordeal I was subject to. I was drugged, kidnapped, trafficked and raped. I released a statement of my personal account, which you may find online in further detail on https://www.duffywords.com/,’ she began her letter.

She went on to say: ‘Today, I really don’t know what to think, say, or do, other than to reach out and explain to you in this letter how irresponsible it was of Netflix to broadcast the film ‘365 Days’. I don’t want to be in this position to have to write to you, but the virtue of my suffering obliges me to do so, because of a violent experience that I endured of the kind that you have chosen to present as ‘adult erotica’.’

Duffy adds: ‘‘365 Days’ glamorizes the brutal reality of sex trafficking, kidnapping and rape. This should not be anyone’s idea of entertainment, nor should it be described as such, or be commercialized in this manner.’

She went on to say that she was shocked that she had to write a letter like this in 2020 and urged them to do better.

There is also a petition that has reached 6k signatures so far asking the streaming service to take it down.
