Snoop Dogg was one of the first celebrities to slam Gayle King for her questions about Kobe Bryant’s 2003 rape case to Lisa Leslie. After he’s received backlash for the way he went about it, he is explaining why he’ll be keeping the same energy until he sees her face to face.

Snoop went on a profanity-laced rant referring to Gayle as a ‘funky dog head b****.’ This was before the CBS anchor came out and slammed the network for posting the clip out of context.

Although many were on his side as far as Gayle being in the wrong, there were others who felt that he could have called her out without disrespecting her in that manner.

Snoop talked to the Rickey Smiley Morning Show about his view on things after seeing her apology.

‘You got Lisa Leslie, an all-star, a great player and Olympic gold medalist who actually grew with Kobe. So it’s like it’s certain people that just wasn’t like that so in Lisa’s mind, she feel like, ‘Why you keep asking the question when the case was dismissed?’ He wasn’t even guilty. So if it was that serious, and no disrespect to the victim, but if it was that serious—if you did that to me—I’m getting on the witness stand and I’m coming forth to make sure you go do some time. Period!’

The rapper also felt that her words could affect his children who  may not know much about the case.

‘My thing was… that was 2003. Some of his kids wasn’t even born. So, when you brining that up you bringing information to them that they don’t need to know nothing about, you get what I’m saying? I’m thinking about them.’

Snoop also called her apology weak.
