Real Housewives of New York star Sonja Morgan had an explosive fight over money with co-star Luann de Lesseps during the most recent episode. And, she doubled down on her claim that de Lesseps is cheap during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
During the RHONY episode, Morgan angrily claimed that de Lesseps paid her just $225 to appear in her Countess and Friends cabaret show. Morgan says that amount barely covers her hair and makeup costs. But, when she asked de Lesseps for more money, the Countess told Morgan: “I don’t need you. Go f*ck yourself.”
As Ramona Singer, Dorinda Medley, and Elyse Slaine looked on, De Lesseps explained to Morgan that she has Broadway actors appear in her show. Morgan and Singer started yelling that Morgan wasn’t a Broadway actor.
“Don’t pretend you’re a Broadway actor, because you’re not,” de Lesseps smirked. “I love you but you’re not.”
In her confessional, de Lesseps explained that she features “major Broadway talent” in her shows, as well as the best comedians and the best singers. Therefore, de Lesseps has no intention of paying Morgan more money to “take off her dress to be in my cabaret show.”
“You have made me feel like you don’t appreciate it, and guess what, I don’t want you in the show,” de Lesseps told Morgan, adding that her show is “very huge” and Morgan is not a part of it.
Morgan kept talking about de Lesseps and money during WWHL when Cohen asked her who was the worst tipper in the cast. Morgan immediately said it was de Lesseps. And, when Cohen asked Sonja Morgan who Luann de Lesseps would pay the most to be in her Countess and Friends show, Morgan replied: “No one.”
In response to her fight with Morgan, de Lesseps wrote on Twitter that she pays Morgan like everyone in her show…”well.” De Lesseps also told Us Weekly during the Getting Real with the Housewives podcast that she refuses to pay Morgan more than the other talent in her show.
“I’ve always paid Sonja and I have major talent in my show. I’ve had Rachel Dratch in my show and Laura Benanti. I have amazing singers and comedians,” said de Lesseps. “I’m not going to pay Sonja more than I would pay a major Broadway talent and it generally consists of her taking her dress off.”
New episodes of Real Housewives of New York air Thursday nights on Bravo.
