Piers Morgan is somewhat of a controversial figure, and lately, he has proved that again when one of his tweets sparked the ire of Sophie Turner. According to Yahoo.com, the star took to her Twitter account earlier today and slammed Piers for his comments on mental illness.

Beverly Callard was quoted by Piers when she explained the way in which celebrities and entertainers have been trying to destigmatize mental health problems.

While most have welcomed this proposition with open arms, some have warned that we, as a society, should avoid making illness seem glamorous or like a fashion trend.

Morgan is just one of those individuals, who believes that celebrities’ promotion of mental illness may be counter-productive. Sophie responded with, “Oh, h*ll no,” and went on to say that he clearly has missed the message.

And in Turner’s response, she pointed to the statistics whereby 1 out of 4 people struggle with mental illness every day. Moreover, celebrities and others are doing their best to help rid of it. “But please go ahead and shun them back into silence,” the star remarked, and then called him a “tw*t.”

As most know, this won’t be the first time a woman has criticized Piers Morgan. In November of last year, Ariana Grande took Morgan to task for criticizing women who choose to embrace sexuality as a means of making money and earning a living.

And perhaps most famous of all, is the time when Ben Shapiro appeared on Morgan’s show and took him to task for bullying people about the second amendment.

It was that incident in particular that made Ben a household name among conservatives, and since then, he has become one of the most popular YouTube stars on the platform, known as the “Intellectual Dark Web,” as it was described by a recent article from The New York Times.

While Sophie Turner isn’t a member of the Intellectual Dark Web, as the NYT described it, some of her fans believe she did just as good as a job of criticizing Piers as Shapiro did.
