Supernatural Star Jared Padalecki Arrested For Assault And Public Intoxication

Supernatural star Jared Padalecki – who has played the role of Sam Winchester for 15 seasons opposite his co-star Jensen Ackles – was arrested early Sunday morning outside of the Stereotype bar in Austin, Texas. The actor allegedly had a drunken outburst and hit both the bar manager and the bartender in the face before putting his friend in a headlock when he tried to calm Padalecki down.

According to TMZ, the 37-year-old actor is a regular at Stereotype, and he is facing two counts of assault and one count of public intoxication after the incident. In a video obtained by the outlet, the 6-foot-4 actor was outside of the bar on the sidewalk with his friend in a headlock when police showed up to intervene.

Eyewitnesses say that Padalecki hit the bartender and manager inside the bar. And, when his friend took him outside so he could cool off, they ended up in a standoff before Padalecki put him in a headlock.

When the police arrived, it appears that the San Antonio, Texas native tried to pay off the cops by pulling a wad of cash out of his pocket and showing it to the officers.

While it’s clear that Padalecki is a regular at Stereotype, some believe he could be an investor in the bar. Some local news outlets are even claiming that he owns the place. Both Padalecki and Ackles own businesses in Austin, and he was at the bar’s grand opening back in September 2018 . Padalecki has also promoted the bar on his Instagram, so it’s possible the bar does belong to him.

Padalecki’s bond was set at $15,000, or $5,000 for each charge against him. And, it’s unclear if he has posted his bail yet or if he is still behind bars. The actor is married to his former Supernatural co-star Genevieve Cortese Padalecki, and they have three children: Thomas, 7, Austin, 5, and Odette, 2.

New episodes of Supernatural air Thursday nights on the CW. Jared Padalecki is also set to star in the reboot of the classic Chuck Norris’ series Walker, Texas Ranger when Supernatural comes to an end next spring after 15 seasons.
