According to a report from Page Six, the man involved in the Andy Dick assault case claims the comedian may not have been as innocent as he proclaimed himself to be. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Andy Dick was knocked out unconscious following a stand-up show in New Orleans.

The man who “sucker-punched him” said to the police in revealed court docs that he had every reason to punch Mr. Dick because Andy allegedly grabbed his genitals and winked at him. The 46-year-old made the claim this past Tuesday after the cops visited him.

David reportedly punched Andy Dick so hard in the face that the stand-up comedian fell to the ground immediately, struck his face off a motorcycle, and was out cold for approximately 15 minutes. He was taken to the hospital shortly after. The Times-Picayune was the first outlet to reveal the news.

In court documents obtained on Wednesday, David said to the police officers that he did strike Andy, but he “had a reason.” David told the police officers that he attended the comedy show put on by the 53-year-old comedian, and when he went up to him to say he enjoyed the show, the comic leaned in and grabbed his genitals.

Hale said he “lost control” when Andy winked at him, so he punched him in the face. As a result, Hale is up against a few different charges including simple battery as well as second-degree battery. A representative who spoke on Andy’s behalf denied the allegations.

Furthermore, video footage appears to show Mr. David Hale punching Andy in the side of the head outside of the venue. Andy was getting ready to get into a car right before the man attacked him – claims his promoter in New Orleans.

While it’s possible Andy was innocent, he has been accused of grabbing people inappropriately in the past. Recently, Andy Dick avoided jail time by cutting a plea deal regarding allegations that he groped a woman’s behind last year in Los Angeles.

Andy Dick is just one of many public figures to face off against allegations of sexual misconduct in the last 2 years, following the rise of the #MeToo movement back in 2017.
