Taylor Swift surprised her fans this week by dropping a new album titled Folklore, and one of the songs sparked a fan theory that turned out to be true. Swift’s new song Betty had fans suspecting that she revealed the secret name of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s third child, and an insider close to the situation confirms that the Swifties are correct.

According to People magazine, the song Betty was named in part after Reynolds and Lively’s third daughter, who was born on October 4, 2019. Fans figured it out after noticing that the track featured three names: Betty, Inez, and James.

Reynolds and Lively are the parents of three girls, and they have revealed in the past that their five-year-old is named James and their three-year-old is named Inez. However, when they welcomed their third child last fall, they didn’t share her name.

This led numerous fans on social media to suspect that Swift had revealed the name of baby number three in the song.

Lyrics of the song include: “Betty, I know where it all went wrong,” “You heard the rumors from Inez/You can’t believe a word she says,” and “She said, ‘James, get in, let’s drive.’”

Neither Swift, Reynolds, nor Lively have commented publicly about the name reveal.

Swift and Lively have been close friends for a few years, and the actress introduced the singer to her husband. Cameras spotted the trio at Swift’s 4th of July party in 2016, but Reynolds looked miserable in the pics even though he claimed to be having fun.

“That’s a problem I’ve had all my life,” he recalled in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. “If I’m not aware a photo is being taken, my natural resting face is one of a man dying. I had no idea somebody was taking a photo. Therefore I was resting comfortably in my persona of a man whose soul is visibly exiting this earth.”

As for Taylor Swift, she debuted her new album early Friday morning just hours after announcing she had made a new album during the COVID-19 quarantine. Titled Folklore, it is Swift’s eighth studio album, and a follow up to 2019’s Lover.

Betty is one of 16 total tracks that have titles like Mad Woman, The 1, Illicit Affairs, My Tears Ricochet, and The Last Great American Dynasty. Swift also released the video for the first single from the album, Cardigan.

“Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my eighth studio album, folklore,” wrote Swift in her announcement. “Surprise 🤗”
