In the very first interview he gave since being released from prison, Tekashi 6ix9ine admitted that he is scared for his safety quite a lot when he is not accompanied by security. After all, the rapper often receives death threats, and yet, he refuses to hide away and protect himself for one very interesting reason – he loves the spotlight too much!

That’s right, Tekashi 6ix9ine admitted that he loves getting attention and apparently, that is even worth risking his life!

As fans know, Tekashi 6ix9ine previously pleaded guilty to firearms and racketeering charges and during court, he testified against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, with which he was involved.

Naturally, being what is known as a ‘snitch’ to a dangerous gang can be really scary and the rapper was not too proud to admit that he now fears for his life constantly as a result of his testimony against the gang.

But even so, he refuses to leave the spotlight behind, explaining via The New York Times that: ‘I love it. I grew up a nobody. Genuinely, as a child, I felt as if I was just walking invisibly. I never want to feel that way again. My goal’s to feed me and mine.’

The rapper went on to explain that while he’s worried about getting killed, he is not really that scared since he always tries to avoid taking any risks.

‘At this point, it is a lifestyle. I worry about it, but I am not scared of it. The streets is a myth. Right now, if I left the interview and took a train by myself to Bed-Stuy, I would not come back. If you went to an island filled with cannibals, are you really coming back? But you do not put yourself in such stupid situations,’ he explained.

But does he worry daily? Well, the rapper dished that it’s only when he does not have his security team around so he obviously is not consumed by worry every single day.
