Toure Neblett may have just inadvertently ended his career by taking a stand against R. Kelly. Terry Crews announced that he canceled his scheduled interview with the journalist after it was revealed that he was accused of workplace sexual harassment.
A makeup artist named Dani detailed to Essence magazine that when she was working with Neblett, he made multiple inappropriate comments to her that ended up getting him fired. She also produced receipts of some uncomfortable things he said to her and an apology that he made via Instagram DM.
After the story went viral, Toure issued a statement via his rep that read: “On the show, our team, including myself, engaged in edgy, crass banter, that at the time I did not think was offensive for our tight-knit group. I am sorry for my language and for making her feel uncomfortable in any way. As a lead on the show, I should have refrained from this behavior. I have learned and grown from this experience.”
Neblett tweeted that he was going to complete an interview with ‘Brooklyn Nine Nine’ actor Terry Crews where they would discuss everything from how his career started to the new season of the show.
Moments before Terry was scheduled to appear, he retweeted Toure and added his own comment that read ‘CANCELED.’
The reason Dani has decided to come forward with her story was partly that she saw Toure on ‘Surviving R, Kelly’ and felt that it was hypocritical considering what he had done to her.
Speaking of the groundbreaking documentary, executive producer, Dream Hampton directly addressed the drama via social media.
Hampton tweeted: “No, I didn’t know Toure sexually harassed someone he worked with, I’m not sure how I could have known. He was included because he did the most famous interview with R. Kelly ever. Like Charlamagne, I wish he’d told me.”
Do you think this is he beginning of the end for Toure Neblett?
