Fans are overcome with emotion as they say goodbye to some of their favorite characters in Avengers: Endgame and they are thanking the actors who portrayed them. Starting off, many are commending Robert Downey Jr., for overcoming his former troubles with addiction that allowed him to become a hero for children worldwide.  Robert Downey Jr. is an Oscar-nominated actor but for many, it will be his role as Iron Man that will forever endear him to fans.

Likewise, Don Cheadle, who played War Machine alongside Downey’s Iron Man is another Oscar-nominated actor who will find a generation remembers him not for his work in Hotel Rwanda, Crash, or House of Lies but for his part in the Avengers’ MCU movies.

While young children will remember them for their characters, the thanks has extended worldwide to the actors who opened their hearts to play the roles that touched so many throughout their childhood and teen years.

Most notably, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are thanking Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, and Benedict Cumberbatch.

The hashtag #thankyouAvengers became so popular over the weekend that Twitter selected it as one of their moments.

As Avengers: Endgame’s popularity continues to grow, so does its box office earnings. The movie is on track for the biggest recorded weekend gross and has already broken the record for the biggest opening ever, according to Box Office Mojo.

The site that keeps track of movie’s earnings projects that Avengers: Endgame made an estimated $157 million opening night. This exceeds what previous record holder Star Wars: The Force Awakens opened with.

Disney’s acquisition of Marvel and Lucasfilm has revolutionized movie-goers experiences for their favor. Now with the launch of Disney Plus streaming services coming to audiences in November 2019, it seems there is no end in sight for Disney’s, Marvel’s, and Lucasfilm’s reach.

While one generation of the Avengers is coming to a close and a new one begins, Disney has assured fans that subscribers to Disney Plus will continue to have access to their favorite childhood superheroes and icons as well as new programming and movies within the MCU.
