We are only a few weeks away from the Season 8 premiere of Game of Thrones. HBO has been very secretive heading into the final season, but cast members have still dropped a few hints here and there about what’s ahead for our favorite characters (at least the ones who are still alive).
Some of those hints have not really told us anything we don’t know, but others have shed some light on who might win the Iron Throne when it’s all said and done.

Back in July, Sophie Turner revealed that the final season is the bloodiest ever — no surprise there — but she also teased that there will be plenty of betrayal. The actress did not name any characters in her spoiler, though it sounds like everyone is up to their old tricks this season.
“This season is bloodier than ever,” Turner shared. “It’s full of betrayal, full of war, full of danger. That’s all I can say without giving too much away.”
In September, George R. R. Martin told fans that the ending will be “bittersweet.” According to Entertainment Tonight, the Game of Thrones author likened it to the end of J. R. R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, which he also thought had a bittersweet element to it. Exactly what that means for Game of Thrones, of course, is yet to be seen.
Speaking of the ending, Peter Dinklage told fans last fall that the conclusion is “beautiful,” and promised that fans are in for an amazing ride. Director David Nutter followed that up by saying the final season definitely lives up to the hype. Kit Harington has also expressed satisfaction with the ending, though Maisie Williams warned fans that, no matter what happens, nobody is going to like it.

For most members of the cast, being a part of Game of Thrones for the past eight years has consumed their lives. For Harington, the series effectively launched him into the spotlight but also brought him together with his wife, Rose Leslie. The pair exchanged vows last summer and plan to watch the final season together.
Season 8 of Game of Thrones premieres April 14.
