The sensational film ” Batman ” with Robert Pattinson in the title role will officially receive a continuation – the announcement of the second part took place during the performance of Warner Bros. at CinemaCon. Matt Reeves will return to the director’s chair and will write the screenplay along the way.
The director noted that he was glad to be able to immerse himself in the universe of the Dark Knight again, but he did not reveal any details of ” Batman 2 “.
The Batman debuted in March and has grossed nearly $760 million worldwide to date. The film also performed well on streaming service HBO Max, with 4.1 million households watching it in its first week, second only to Mortal Kombat ‘s figures over the same time period. Last year’s brutal action-thriller drew 4.3 million households in its first week on HBO Max.
Note that the first part – “a harsh three-hour superhero film” – became a real sensation in post-pandemic distribution and the second film in the “covid” history to overcome the bar of $ 100 million at the box office for the premiere weekend. (The first was Spider-Man: No Way Home ).
It was previously reported that the sequels would appear in the reboot of “Ghostbusters” and “Venom.” And there, too, everything without any nuances.
Matt Reeves will return to direct, with no screenwriter named. The script for the first film was co-written by Reeves and Peter Craig.
There are no details about the film, but you can expect the return of Zoe Kravitz (Catwoman), Jeffrey Wright (Gordon), Andy Serkis (Alfred), Colin Farrell (Penguin), or even Barry Keoghan ( Joker ). By the way, if you missed the cut scene with the Joker for fear of spoilers, you can watch it now:
