Cast members from the CBS daytime soap opera came together to share stories, recall memories and pay homage to a man they all dearly loved. Monday’s stand-alone episode took the actors and actresses out of their characters, so they good personally talk about St. John.

The past three episodes viewers have watched as the residents of Genoa City mourned the loss of Neil Winters, the character St. John played for nearly three decades. It was an emotional sendoff that was worthy of a man and character that defined soap opera history.

Today though, was a special episode entirely focused on St. John. There were clips of his work on the show, as well as interviews with the incredibly talented actor.

However, what truly made this episode stand out from the rest is listening to his cast members speak so eloquently about a man who had such a significant impact on people’s lives.

“He was an anchor for us. To work with him was effortless. I don’t imagine in my lifetime I will ever have a scene partner like him and certainly not for 14 years,” shared Victoria Rowell, who play Dru the great love of Neil’s life.

Off-screen Rowell and St. John remained close friends, despite her leaving Y&R years ago. She is still reeling from his shocking and sudden death last February, like so many who had the privilege of knowing him.

“He had such a love of life. Whenever I would go to a party or an event, first thing I wanted to know was, ‘Where’s Kristoff?’ Because I knew wherever he was, that’s where the fun was being had. I wanted to be encompassed in that. He never disappointed,” revealed veteran Y&R cast member Melody Thomas Scott.

Life on the set of Y&R has not been the same, nor will it ever be the same since Kristoff St. John died earlier this year. The tribute episode today allowed fans to not only hear the cast speak openly about St. John, but viewers also got to witness some of the actors last words in various interview clips he did for the show.
