This week the CBS daytime soap will finally honor the actor and the character in a way that is truly fitting for both. In what will be a five-episode arc, Genoa City residents will learn of the sudden passing of Neil Winters. Those who were pivotal not only in the character’s life but St. John’s as well, will return to the soap opera to say good-bye.

It all starts on Tuesday, April 23rd and ends with a tribute episode like no other on Monday, April 29th. The later will feature the cast and crew of the show coming together to honor St. John. Those involved in the special episode will share stories and memories of a man they dearly loved that will also include video of some of Neil’s most memorable scenes.

Shemar Moore returns to the role of Neil’s brother Malcolm, starting Thursday, April 25th. He will also be featured in the stand-alone special episode. Eileen Davidson, who played Neil’s ex-wife Ashley, as well as Christel Khalil, who played Neil’s daughter Lily, with both return to Y&R for the funeral episodes.

Victoria Rowell, who was a longtime friend of St. John and played the great love of Neil’s life, Dru will be on hand for the tribute episode. She will not return for the funeral episodes, as her off-screen relationship with the CBS soap opera is tense at best.

Along with the five-day arc, including the tribute episode, the CBS show The Talk will also have a segment honoring St. John on Friday, April 26th. Rowell, Moore, and Bryton James, who plays Neil’s son, Devon will all appear on the show to pay tribute to their friend.

Kristoff St. John’s shocking death on February 3rd left his friends and family reeling. Days after his passing Y&R had a video in memoriam for the actor. However, the show was dedicated to doing justice to both the actor and character when the time was right. It looks like the time is now.

Fans will want to make sure to set their DVR’s for Y&R all week, as well as The Talk and grab tissues because all episodes will be tear jerkers. There was no one like Neil or Kristoff, but sadly it is time to say good-bye. Who else can’t wait for the individual episodes?
