Metz performed I’m Standing With You from her new movie Breakthrough at the 54th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, and her powerhouse performance was met with roaring applause from the audience. Of course fans were quick to hope she would even put out an album of her own.

Metz took the stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas alongside Underwood, Maddie and Tae, Lauren Alaina, and Mickey Guyton, and the 38-year-old not only stunned with her vocals, but she also looked incredible in a blue satin dress that draped off her shoulders.

Fans immediately took notice of Metz’s performance and voiced their approval on social media.

“You really impressed me tonight @ChrissyMetz – Could you imagine the pressure being on stage with all those strong, fierce female vocalists? Jack would be so proud. #ACMawards #ChrissyMetz #ThisIsUs,” one Twitter user wrote.

Another fan tweeted: “Just watched @ChrissyMetz sing on the ACM’s, she looked beautiful, sang beautiful, she is so talented, such an emotional song, can’t wait to see the movie #Breakthroughmovie.”

According to Us Weekly, Underwood joined Metz for her first performance since giving birth to baby number two. Before she took the stage, the American Idol alum posted a pic on Instagram of herself pumping breast milk backstage and wrote in the caption that she was a proud mom who was multitasking.

Underwood and her husband, hockey player Mike Fisher, are the proud parents of 4-year-old Isaiah and 2-month-old Jacob.

As for Metz, she said before the performance that she was excited to sing with “these ladies of country” who join her on the Breakthrough soundtrack. However, she did admit that she was nervous about performing at the ACMs because it was unchartered territory.

Metz also says that she is “working on some personal music.” And didn’t rule out putting out an album of her own.

In Breakthrough, Metz plays Joyce Smith, a Missouri mother who refuses to give up after her adopted son falls through an icy lake. It is based on a real-life story, and Metz says that after meeting the real family, you can’t help but be inspired, moved, and changed by their story.
