Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom recently hit the red carpet together for the premiere of his new movie Carnival Row, and the engaged couple is hinting that their wedding day is coming soon. However, both Perry and Bloom have made it clear that they aren’t going to run down the aisle thanks to their previous failed marriages.

After the couple rocked the red carpet in their Tom Ford designs and showed off a little PDA, Bloom posted a pic on Instagram and wrote in the caption hat he had a great evening sharing the bright light with Perry. Bloom explained that having a partner with him to enjoy all of the highs, lows, and in-betweens makes all the difference.

Perry responded to Bloom’s post, calling her fiance “a hero on screen and in real life.”

The couple got engaged during a helicopter ride this past Valentine’s Day, but Bloom told Willie Geist on Sunday Today that the moment wasn’t a big gesture from a Hollywood rom com or epic romance.

“It was a very real moment, actually, for us. I think we’re both… the one thing about us is that we’re very real with each other in terms of knowing that, like, it’s a mountain to climb,” said Bloom. “I think there’s an idea in Hollywood that love because of the way Hollywood has sold love and love stories and everything that the helicopter thing was ‘wow they’re in a helicopter!’ But actually, the cool thing about what we’re doing is that we’re learning to do the small together, we’re learning to do the intimate.”

Bloom explained that no matter if you are in the public eye or not, you always have to keep your eye on intimacy and closeness. He added that it’s important to him to keep things real and grounded when you have such big lives. The helicopter moment may seem fun and exciting, but Bloom says coming back to the simple is what it’s all about.

In an interview this summer, Katy Perry said that the two were working on a “good emotional foundation” for their lifetime commitment to one another. And, Orlando Bloom says it’s important to him that they are aligned, as both of them have been married and divorced, and they are both fully aware that they don’t want to do that again.
