Bravo is pulling out all of the stops in its court battle with former Southern Charm star Thomas Ravenel. The network and show’s producers just filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing that Ravenel has no right to prevent them from using unaired footage of his children.

The network also slammed Ravenel for being hypocritical, saying that if he really wanted to keep his custody battle a secret then he would agree to seal the records and stop discussing it in public venues.

Producers then claimed that they have already resolved the issue by not releasing any unaired footage, and they do not plan on changing that for the upcoming season. Bravo also noted that Ravenel never took issue with cameras filming his children until after he was fired from the show.

“Ravenel’s actual interest appears to be to prohibit anyone besides himself from maintaining a public platform to discuss this lawsuit now that he is no longer a cast member on Southern Charm,” Bravo argued.

Ravenel opened the lawsuit in November with the goal of preventing the series from airing old footage of his children. Ravenel believed the footage could be edited in a way that would negatively affect his current custody battle with Dennis, who is looking to gain full custody of their children.

Ravenel is preparing to answer charges of sexual assault, which is why Bravo let him go at the end of last season. In addition to suing the network, Ravenel has been bashing his former girlfriend in court over the past few months. This includes accusing her of receiving drugs from producers and participating in a hit and run outside of her apartment.

Dennis has issued a statement denying the allegations of drug use. She also says that Ravenel had a private investigator follow her around, which she believes is in violation of the restraining order she has against him. Kathryn Dennis lost custody in 2016 because of a failed drug test. She regained custody this year after finishing a drug treatment program.

Bravo has not commented on its ongoing lawsuit with Thomas Ravenel.
