Reported first by the Hollywood Reporter, three people were wounded after they were shot at a restaurant outside of Atlanta. As it turns out, the restaurant is owned by the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Kandi Burruss.
East Point Police captain, Allyn Glover, said to news outlets that a man entered the Old Lady Gang restaurant on Friday night and targeted another person. Two bystanders were shot and all three of the affected individuals were thankfully relatively unharmed or at least left without life-threatening injuries.
Mr. Glover said to reporters that the shooter was never apprehended. Additionally, it has been reported that the identities of the people involved weren’t revealed. Reportedly, Old Lady Gang is owned by Kandi and her husband, Todd Tucker, and it’s named after Burruss’ mother and her sisters.
The Hollywood Reporter claims the first restaurant was opened back in Atlanta in 2016, and then another was created in 2018. As most know, Burruss has been a popular cast member of the Real Housewives of Atlanta since 2009, during its second season.
She met her man, Todd Tucker, who’s also a former line producer, on the show. Kandi has since appeared in other productions including Big Brother: Celebrity Edition, in addition to first coming to prominence as part of the 1990s R & B group, Xscape.
She later played a crucial role in the TLC hit song, “No Scrubs,” which has since become a cult classic. According to Burruss’ Wikipedia Page, she won the Grammy Award for Best R & B song for the aforementioned track, and also first started her role in Real Housewives of Atlanta back on the 30th of July, 2009.
Her history in the entertainment industry extends beyond her time in Xscape as well. For the first time, she appeared on television on BET’s Teen Summit, when she was just 15-years-old and attending the Tri-Cities High School in East Point, Georgia.
Kandi and her Xscape band members first dropped their debut album in the early 1990s, Hummin’ Comin’ At ‘Cha in 1993.
