The first trailer for the Top Gun sequel has dropped thanks to a surprise visit by Tom Cruise at Comic-Con.
Cruise appeared at the end of the Terminator: Dark Fate panel. No, the A-list actor does not have a part in the film. However, the movie, just like Top Gun: Maverick is also a flick from Paramount and Skydance.
Variety is reporting that Cruise took fans on a quick trip down memory lane as he reminisced about shooting the first Top Gun in downtown San Diego. He also thrilled fans with the news the sequel was almost complete.
Since the movie is close to being finished, the actor deemed it necessary to give Comic-Con a first look at the highly anticipated film.

“I felt it was my responsibility to deliver for you,” Cruise told the crowd, before giving them want they really wanted, the trailer.
The two-minute trailer leaves fans with a twinge of nostalgia for the 1986 original hit movie. It is full of the same good action-packed moments that drew crowds to Top Gun in the first place.
Cruise on a motorcycle, singing his heart, several flight stunts and of course shirtless men playing beach volleyball. There is even a brief few seconds of an updated version to the theme song.
It is full of thrills, chills, romance and challenging moments for a much older but clearly not wiser Maverick. The lead character is battling a changed military institution, as well as his own demons.
The storyline for Top Gun: Maverick has been kept on the down-low since the film was announced. Even the new trailer does not give away the premise for it. Paramount initially slated for the flick to be released this year but pushed it back to work on those all too important flight scenes.
