Val Kilmer has been out of the limelight now for almost twenty years. It turns out that he’s been single for almost the same amount of time. In a new memoir, I’m Your Huckleberry, the 60-year-old actor revealed just how lonely he’s been over the last two decades.
In excerpts acquired by People Magazine, Val wrote in his book that he hasn’t had a girlfriend in 20 years. According to the Batman Forever actor, he feels lonely “every day,” and the fact he has always “found women to be more interesting than men” has made his loneliness much worse.
The Saint alum claimed that he felt it was one of the reasons why men and women have always gotten along. Men are “big oafy elephants,” and “they are butterflies.” Val has had many prolific relationships over the years, including Angelina Jolie at one time, Cindy Crawford, and Cher.
However, the one that left him with the deepest heartbreak was Daryl Hannah. Val wrote in his book that he has suffered a lot of “heartache,” but the worst of all was Daryl Hannah, who’s now married to Neil Young. Val and Daryl dated in the early 2000s.

In the book, Val joked that he always loved Neil but now he hates him. Regarding Angelina Jolie, he described her as “the most soulful and serious,” and credited Cindy Crawford with helping him through his divorce with Joanne Whalley.
According to Kilmer, who once co-starred alongside Tom Cruise in Top Gun, when people ask him what Angelina was like, he said she was like other superstars but “just more.” Cher, on the other hand, came to bat for Kilmer when he was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2015.
The actor has particular respect for Cher, whom he claimed helped him through his darkest time, his cancer diagnosis and subsequent recovery.
Cher was the type of person who had an amazing commitment and loyalty to the people she cared about Kilmer explained. These days, he’s cancer-free and he couldn’t be any more grateful for it.
