Vanessa Lachey Responds To Criticism About Awkward Jessica Simpson Interview -- Slams Hoda Kotb In The Process

Jessica Simpson’s new book is causing quite the stir in Hollywood. The press surrounding her tell-all book has entangled all of her famous exes and most recently her ex-husband’s now wife.

Nick and Vanessa Lachey made an appearance on Hoda and Jenna where things got super awkward really fast. When Hoda Kotb mentioned that Jessica claimed to have received a gift from the couple after the birth of her first child, Vanessa interrupted and shot down the rumor.

‘I feel bad. I’m sorry, but you said somebody sent her — It wasn’t us.’

She went on to say: ‘I don’t know her address. But thank you, whoever sent it from us!’

Viewers noticed that the moment seemed a bit tense for Nick who sat quietly. Social media users feel as though Vanessa was triggered about the host talking about his ex or Nick may have sent the gift behind her back.

Twitter users pointed out that Vanessa was bothered and she took the time to respond to multiple tweets.

‘Sorry you think that, just didn’t want to take credit for something we didn’t do. That’s all. Seems weird to ignore sending a big beautiful gift basket and taking that credit. Either way… hope you have a Beautiful day! ❤️,’ she responded to someone who said she seemed shady.

In another, she said that she just wanted to clear the air.

‘Trust me! If I sent something, I’d take credit!’

She even ended up slamming Kotb in the process while responding to another tweet.

‘You make sure you do your research and state facts and ask appropriate questions as the host… don’t you think. The statement wasn’t true, so I was simply clearing that up. But definitely a beautiful sentiment if it was.’

She replied to multiple tweets after that.

It’s safe to say that Vanessa trying to clear the air is making the situation even more awkward.
