Wandavision starring Elizabeth Olsen is a series that debuted on Disney Plus that took viewers on a journey in a world created by Wanda Maximoff after succumbing to the lifelong grief she’s had to face after losing everyone she loves. The show surpassed many people’s expectations so much throughout the season that it made it impossible for the series finale to satisfy everyone.
Wandavision reunited Wanda and Vision in a world created by the witch that paid homage to the many shows Wanda watched throughout her life. She also welcomed a set of twins. From I Love Lucy to The Brady Bunch to The Office — it touched on every major era of TV.
Unfortunately, it turns out that the avenger put a whole town under her spell. She was confronted by SWORD and a witch who had been pulling all the strings and ultimately ended up returning everything to normal and losing her lover and children.
The show was meant to set up the beginning of the next Marvel phase starting with Doctor Strange 2 — something it did very well.
While some people thought the finale gave everything it should and more — others were left unsatisfied.
Unlike many people thought, Evan Peters’ guest spot was just that — a guest spot. Additionally, no new major characters were introduced on the last episode.
Wandavision’s director had already anticipated this reaction.
‘I know there are so many theories out there; there will be a lot of people who will no doubt be disappointed by one theory or another. But we’re always telling this story about Wanda dealing with grief and learning how to accept that loss, and hopefully people will find that the finale is surprising but also satisfying, and that it feels inevitable because it’s the same story they’ve been watching the whole time,’ Matt Shakman explained to Entertainment Weekly.
