Amid the current coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic, actor Idris Elba proposed that a one-week long quarantine would happen every year from now on just so that people ‘reflect’ on the outbreak. However, Wendy Williams made it very clear that she doesn’t agree!

The talk show host argued that she and all other people in the world do not need any reminders of what has been happening in the world.

Therefore, she simply shut down his proposal and invited him to ‘sit down!’

As you might know, Elba and his wife, Sabrina Dhowre, were amongst the many who got infected with the virus so they were able to experience the symptoms themselves.

At this point, the pair is still recovering while in quarantine together in Los Angeles.

During an interview not too long ago, Idris came up with an idea for when the pandemic comes to an end – an annual ‘hibernation’ period all over the world!

Wendy played the clip in which the actor stated via the Associated Press that: ‘During the time of crisis you kind of want to be close to home, I think the world should dedicate one week of quarantine every year to remember this time and remember each other, I really do. Other species use it, it is called hibernation, but it does remind you that the world does not tick on your time.’

In response, Wendy stated on her @Home show: ‘He feels as though he’s an authoritarian on telling us what to do. Is he serious? I do not need to be reminded of this. This is something you’ll never forget. Will you ever forget it? Do you have to self-quarantine, next year this time? I do not. Idris, sit down. First of all, I love being in my home, so it is nothing for me to stay in the house for a week. But, I do not need to do it to self-reflect on this disaster going on right now.’
