Will Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Choose William And Kate As Godparents Despite Feud?

Meghan Markle’s rumored feud with Kate Middleton has been an ongoing issue for the royal family over the past year. With Markle expecting her first baby this spring, her list of potential godparents keeps growing – but so far, Middleton has not made the cut.

At the top of Markle’s list of godparents is her longtime pal, Jessica Mulroney. While the two live thousands of miles apart, experts believe Mulroney will be an active part of the child’s life. Mulroney was present for Markle’s wedding and all three of her children were a part of the ceremony.

According to People, Markle has two other candidates that could be the godmother of her first child: Serena Williams and Priyanka Chopra. Williams and Markle have worked together on several occasions and became fast friends in the process. The tennis champion was even invited to Markle’s wedding, cementing their close bond.

Chopra, meanwhile, has been friends with Markle since at least 2016. The pair met during the ELLE Women in Television dinner event and have been great friends ever since. Markle has not made any announcements, but it would not be surprising if one of these three women got the nod to become godparents.

Harry, meanwhile, is reportedly considering Charlie Van Staubenzee as the child’s godfather. Van Staubenzee is one of Harry’s closest friends and their relationship dates all the way back to his prep school days. The two have even worked on a charity together in honor of Van Staubenzee’s late brother, Henry, who passed away in a car accident.

As far as Middleton and Prince William are concerned, it is unlikely that they will be named godparents. Unless Markle and Middleton put the past behind them and make amends, the actress will probably go with one of her closer friends for the position.

The royal family has not commented on Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s ongoing feud.
