With Oscar Dreams In Her Mind, Lady Gaga Finally Throws Her 'Do What U Want' Collaborator R. Kelly Under The Bus

Another artist, Lady Gaga has decided to throw R. Kelly under the bus after the headline-making Lifetime docu-series, Surviving R. Kelly.

Hours before Lady Gaga made the announcement, and it was reported via The Blast that those closest to the criminal investigation of R. Kelly think he is planning on fleeing the country with his many girlfriends to Africa before prosecutors charge him with a crime.

Lady Gaga is one amongst a list of celebrities who have apologized for working with Kelly.

Gaga, who collaborated with R. Kelly on “Do What U Want,” that was was featured on her Artpop album said: “I stand by anyone who has ever been the victim of sexual assault.”

The actress went on to say in the message on social media: ”I made both the song and video at a dark time in my life; my intention was to create something extremely defiant and provocative because I was angry and still hadn’t processed the trauma that had occurred in my own life.”

The 32-year-old singer continued by confessing that she regrets not seeking help during that dark era of her life instead of calling on the R&B star for the controversial song and eye-popping performance on Saturday Night Live.

Lady Gaga wrote: “If I could go back and have a talk with my younger self I’d tell her to go through the therapy I have since then, so that I could understand the confused post-traumatic state that I was in – or if therapy was not available to me or anyone in my situation – to seek help, and speak as openly and honestly as possible about we’ve been through. I can’t go back, but I can go forward and continue to support women, men and people of all sexual identities, and of all races, who are victims of sexual assault.”

She concluded her note by: “I intend to remove this song off of iTunes and other streaming platforms and will not be working with him again. I’m sorry, both for my poor judgment when I was young, and for not speaking out sooner. I love you.”
