Hot New Hip Hop reported today that Xzibit and his wife of six years, Krista Joiner, filed for divorce (although, only Krista has done so as of writing). Krista filed the divorce papers in a court of law against Alvin Joiner, also known as Xzibit, who’s most famous for his rap career and hosting duties on MTV’s Pimp My Ride.

Page Six was the first to report on the court documents that were submitted in the LA Superior Court on Monday. Of course, Xzibit and his wife, Joiner, aren’t the only ones who have split up over the course of the coronavirus pandemic which first began in March of last year.

Reportedly, the 46-year-old rapper Krista first met back in 2001 and they got married in November of 2014. During their relationship, Xzibit and Krista had two children, including Xavier who unfortunately died 11 days after he was born, followed by their other son who lived, Gatlin.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, the 46-year-old performing artist also has another son, a 25-year-old named Tremaine from another woman. Thus far, the details of their divorce aren’t entirely clear, including whether the rapper will be paying child and spousal support. It also isn’t known if they signed a prenuptial agreement as Nicole Young and Dr. Dre had done.

Thus far, Page Six says Xzibit hasn’t filed a response yet either. Regarding what was just mentioned and near the start of the article, 2020 and 2021 haven’t been a good time for performing artists and their relationships.

For example, Nicole and Dr. Dre split up last year amid the summertime of 2020 in what has since become one of the most controversial divorces over the last year and a half.

The couple has been in and out of the headlines repeatedly, including when it was reported that Young wanted to subpoena some of Dre’s supposed mistresses.

Another celebrity couple who called it off amid the pandemic includes Kelly Clarkson and her estranged husband in addition to Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers, the former of which has since been accused of “cannibalism,” oddly enough.
