Zac Efron Reveals Why He Hesitated Taking On The Role Of Ted Bundy

According to a report from JustJared.com, Zac Efron recently sat down with Seth Rogen, Matthew Broderick, and Charlize Theron while on The Graham Norton Show and admitted his reluctance at portraying Ted Bundy in the brand new thriller, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

“I had a lot of reservations about playing a killer and in this genre of film,” the actor remarked. Zac said it wasn’t his intention to glorify a psychopathic murderer, which Hollywood and the entertainment industry has been accused of many times, but rather to explore whether Ted Bundy was even capable of empathy or “real love.”

The Neighbors star said that he was “very hesitant” but ultimately knew he could take it on. According to the actor, it’s important for the public to know that taking on the movie wasn’t a “desperate” attempt to change his image in the eyes of the public.

In the past, Zac has primarily played college-aged stars as well as young good-looking men. Now in his early 30s, Efron has had to make some serious changes for fear of being typecast in one role for the rest of his career, and ultimately, never getting to grow.

As for the probability of a sequel to Hugh Jackman’s big hit, The Greatest Showman, Zac said Jackman is working at all kinds of things, one of which is a “one-man-show.” As for what’s next, Zac admitted he doesn’t know for sure but sure hopes there will be a sequel.

In case you missed it, Zac is referring to the 2017 hit, The Greatest Showman, starring the aforementioned actor, Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zac, Rebecca Ferguson, as well as Zendaya.
